My name is Rose, but my friends and family call me Rosie. I am a journalism major at the University of New Hampshire, born and raised in Portsmouth, NH. I was born with a rare physical disability called Congenital Myasthenic Syndrome (CMS). It affects every muscle in my body. I went undiagnosed for 16 years, there is only one doctor in the world that is an expert on CMS. It was difficult growing up without knowing why my muscles did not work properly.
My passion for writing expanded in my junior year of high school in my honors English class. I had an incredible teacher who pushed me to write better than I thought I could. From then on my love for writing grew exponentially. Reading outside with my golden retriever is one of my favorite activities (but I can only do that in the summer as I live in New England and it doesn’t stay warm all year round) along with going out with my friends.
At the time of starting this blog, I am 19 years old. I am not sure how many years this will last, but I am hoping it will last at least until I graduate college. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy the ride!
Love,
Rosie
