Hello my friends! A week has gone by since I last posted and within that week I have been able to score myself a job. You are now reading the blog of a freelance journalist! I am working for the Granite State News Collaborative which is a group of nearly 20 news outlets as well as community and education leaders from all over the state of New Hampshire. Their mission (and I guess my mission now too) is to work together to produce and share news and issues that impact the state. I will be working on stories in a more in-depth manner than a typical daily news beat which I find EXTREMELY exciting because I love investigative reporting; my inner Nancy Drew can finally come out! The way it will work for me is that I will receive and present story pitches to my main contact and choose my stories from there.
My interview was this past Monday and funny enough, I wasn’t that nervous. Yes, I too found it strange that I wasn’t nervous, but let’s not look a gift horse in the mouth, shall we? Anyway, I think I felt more confident because journalism is something that I am good at and know that I do well at, and that’s not me bragging, that’s me knowing what I love and because I love it, I succeed at it. The more you love doing something, the better you are at it. The interview went so well and the woman I spoke to was like a kindred spirit; we both LOVE investigative reporting and the infamous Nancy Drew. I think this job will work out splendidly for me and I could not be happier!
As always, I will keep you all updated on my work and will be posting the links here once they are available. Thank you for your continued support, even after my very long hiatus. It really means a lot to me! Have a fabulous week!
That’s great “News” Rosie! Congratulations, your hard work will definitely pay off. Good luck 😉. Looking forward to the articles to come.
